This program is a plug-in for AutoCAD.

This program gives AutoCAD the ability to import geometric data from IGES files.

IGES will be a neutral file format which is widely used to exchange 2D and 3D data between various CAD systems. IGES Import with regard to AutoCAD reads 2D and 3D geometry stored in IGES files and produces corresponding 2D and 3D objects in the active AutoCAD drawing.

This program is run by the widely used 3D InterOp technology from Spatial. 3D InterOp will be the industry standard with regard to proprietary and neutral CAD file format data trade and is used in almost all the main CAD systems. Besides data trade 3D InterOp also offers powerful repairing and healing features which are extensively used in This program . Repairing involves checking the file for corrupted data and fixing the invalid data. Healing corrects the variations in precision. This program also produces a detailed log file which is extremely useful in identifying data translation issues and aids in locating and fixing errors.

This program can read IGES files up to version 5. a few.

This program is very easy to use. Once installed, it automatically loads itself in to AutoCAD and adds a new submenu called "IGESImport" to the AutoCAD menu.
