OBJ Import for SolidWorks

OBJ file import add-in for SolidWorks

This program is a Wavefront OBJ file transfer add-in for SolidWorks®. This particular add-in gives SolidWorks the opportunity to import geometric data through OBJ files.

This program reads polygon mesh data stored in OBJ files and imports it into SolidWorks. A polygon mesh in an OBJ file is composed of a set associated with triangular/quad faces. This program creates trimmed planar surfaces for every triangle/quad and knits all of them together to produce a body. When the polygon mesh is closed (i. e. it does not contain boundary edges) then This program will generate a closed body function, otherwise a surface may be created.

This program is very easy to use as it adds new commands in order to SolidWorks. Additionally, it adds the submenu towards the SolidWorks menu called "OBJImport".

The OBJImport submenu consists of the following commands:

# Import - Import an OBJ document

# Help - Screen the OBJ Import regarding SolidWorks help document

# Register - Register your copy of This program

# About - Display the This program About box

OBJ Import regarding SolidWorks comes with comprehensive documentation for each order in addition to a tutorial to get you started in the shortest possible time.

The OBJ Extendable

The OBJ document format is really a geometry description file format first developed by Wavefront Technologies because of its Advanced Visualizer animation bundle. The file format will be open and has been adopted by other 3D graphics application vendors, making it an universally approved geometry file format. The OBJ file format will be a simple data file format that represents 3D geometry alone - namely, the position of each vertex, the texture coordinate associated with a vertex, the normal in each vertex, and the faces that make each polygon.
