ORTWIN is a Local Register of the FRG.
This program is a program with regard to the state-wide inquiry of the localities, postal rules and telephone selections in Germany. It finds postal zip codes, telephone pre selections, coordinates and ground level elevations. The program determines municipal codes, local middle points, car license rules, topographic maps, Unlocodes plus much more. It arranges localities hierarchically in to the structures federal state, administrative district, rural district, town, municipality, local quarter and domicile. The program performs perimeter searches and distance calculations. It finds landscapes upon different levels, natural models and snow- and blowing wind load zones of almost all localities. In a radius around a place or around a postal code area covered localities and postal areas can be clearly represented by a comfortable perimeter search. These people can also be organized in a list, saved like a file and printed. For the local inquiries and perimeter searches a data base with more compared to 105. 000 geo coded localities is available. This program represents local data, dependant on local inquiries and perimeter searches, in graphic overviews and data lists. The program supports conversions between different coordinate systems and the distance calculation between the particular places. It calculates along with Gauss Krueger coordinates mentioning to the Potsdam Datensatz (fachsprachlich) (Bessel ellipsoid, Rauenberg) plus with Geographic Coordinates within the geodetic datum WGS84. Additionally, it works with UTM heads, which refer to the particular datum ETRS89 (GRS80, geocentric). The functionality from the plan is described within a detailed electronic manual. This program may be run on nearly all common networks and this is possible to make use of Terminal Services on HOME WINDOWS Servers. The client installs are done automatically.
