The length cutting optimizer - calculator
This program is the length cutting optimizer -- fast, powerful, compact and easy to utilize software tool for cutting to size of any linear (one-dimensional) material: profiles, bars, extrusions, pipes, tubes, wood and so on. The program solves the so called One-dimensional Stock Trimming / Bin Packing Problem: optimizes the distribution of a large number of pieces having mostly different lengths amongst a number of uniform or different stock lengths/sizes.
Optimizer goal, as well because the main cutting technology settings, like minimal reusable length, trim losses, piece gripping end, saw knife thickness - are flexible. The main goal will be to minimize either the overall material waste, or the associated material cost. Usually, 1DSC brings down material waste by a factor of 10 (from about 10% to about 1%) with respect to manual slice planning.
This program machine supports: stock material stock; part order/reference lists; automatic update of the stock lists; data import and export in many types; Metric and Imperial length/size units; network data posting; data import and export via common ASCII text or CSV files with adjustable format. 1DSC import files can be created by MS Notepad or the some other simple word processor, spreadsheet, database, or 3rd party system.
